Description

Spaghetti Squash Au Gratin is a creamy and cheesy dish that offers a delicious twist on traditional gratin recipes, perfect for a comforting meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium spaghetti squash
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Gruyère)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cut the spaghetti squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
  3. Place the squash halves cut-side down on a baking sheet and roast for 30-40 minutes until tender.
  4. Once cooked, scrape the flesh of the squash with a fork to create spaghetti-like strands.
  5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the spaghetti squash strands, heavy cream, garlic, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and half of the shredded cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheese and Parmesan.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a lighter version, you can substitute half-and-half for heavy cream.
