A hearty and comforting casserole made with layers of ground beef, potatoes, and cheese, perfect for a family dinner.
Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the chopped onion until translucent.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom.
- Spread half of the cooked ground beef mixture over the potatoes.
- Pour half of the cream of mushroom soup mixed with milk over the beef.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef, soup mixture, and cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- For added flavor, you can include garlic or other spices.
- Feel free to substitute ground beef with ground turkey for a leaner option.
- This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
